Here I have the Chanel Classic Flap Bag in the Jumbo size, BOTH caviar and lambskin.
Hopefully, my pictures will help you ladies who are
currently deciding on which type of leather to get. :)
Both bags are black, and have silver hardware, (although it will look a bit goldish with flash).
Comparison
I'm going to point out some quick differences, as well as similarities. First, the weight of the 2 bags are only slightly different in my opinion. I hear many women say the caviar is much heavier than lambskin, but I felt it was quite the same.
Now one thing is definitely true, lambskin is a PAIN to take care of. You will not, and I mean YOU WILL NOT be able to prevent scratches and dents on it. No matter how hard you try to baby it, even when its not even in use, it will get damaged. The chains and zipper on it will dent the bag itself. Your fingernails will scratch it. But at the end of the day, it's still a beauty isn't it? *sigh*
Caviar on the other hand needs less maintenance, but I wouldn't say it's the best "throw around, everyday bag" like most women want it to be. It will get damaged too, if you don't take care of it. Now question is why the hell do we spend so much on these bags when it isn't even durable? Because it's a Chanel. Also, I have problems with my Caviar chains squeaking, but my lambskin doesn't. It's a very unpleasant sound, but hopefully it will go away after more usage.
